SKI HOLIDAY IN FAMILY FRIENDLY SKI RESORTS
Two planks. One good amount of snow. Two drag lifts. The perfect skiing fun! The small but pleasant ski resort in the centre on Prägraten is only a short distance from the family hotel Replerhof. The small ski area with only 2km of prepared ski slope is perfect for beginners and families. On the gentle hills children can playfully learn to ski. For the very small skiers there is also a magic carpet. The local ski school offers children’s classes in small groups.
The small ski area for families directly in Prägraten on Großglockner is a hit due to its reasonable prices and low queuing time on the lifts! In neighbouring Virgen is a second small ski area for variety. The Resort of Kals and Matrei offers a wider range of skiing: A free ski bus joins the district of Prägraten on Großglockner with the largest ski resort in East Triol. The ski resort of Kals and Matrei is exceptionally family friendly.

Cross country skiing with guaranteed snow
The cross country ski area offers young and old a total of 5 tracks and over 25 kilometres of best prepared routes. The varied tracks have been awarded the Tirolean cross country award of approval. They are prepared daily when required.
Particularly recommendable is the challenging Isel track alongside the last free flowing glacial river in the Alps. The panorama track Ströden at the end of the valley offers a unique view over the winter landscape and is especially recommended for beginners, as is the Unterfeld track. The also relatively easy track Blusenrunde is supported by a modern snow making facility, it is available daily as a floodlit track from 16 to 21 00. A challenging track is the Bobojach covering 7,5 kilometres and several hills – a total ascent of over 135 altitude metres – and interesting descents.

Family friendly tracks
The perfectly prepared cross country tracks in Virgen have recently become part of the Dolomiti Nordicski and have been awarded the Track award of approval for Tirol. A total of 4 track circuits beginning in the centre of Virgen.
The Isel track offers perfect conditions for endurance training over almost 5 kilometres of track. The Habererfeld track is only 1kilometre and particularly suited for beginners, along with the beginners track. The Sport track is more challenging over 6 kilometres of moderately difficult terrain.
The Isel track and the Sport track can both be shortened at about half the distance making them easier to complete – paradise for younger cross country skiers!
